Fantasy Outlook

Murray missed 12 games in 2025 with a foot injury, failing to play a full season for the fourth time in five years. His five games played looked a lot like the previous season when he relied almost entirely on short passes, threw too few TDs and was quick to run. His 6.0-yard average target depth ranked 38th of 40 QBs with at least 160 attempts as just 28 percent of his passes went 10-plus yards (34th). His career-low 5.9 YPA ranked 39th, and, like the year before, he was on pace for only about 20 TD passes. The lone bright spot was his rushing, where he averaged about 35 yards per game (a near 600-yard pace). The Cardinals released him in March and he signed with Minnesota where he will displace J.J. McCarthy as the starter. The Vikings' offensive scheme and surrounding talent are major upgrades for Murray, who is in the best set-up of his career with coach Kevin O'Connell calling plays. Justin Jefferson is one of the league's best wide receivers, and Jordan Addison, newcomer Jauan Jennings and TE T.J. Hockenson are quality targets as well. His running could be scaled back to avoid injury, but he's still a good bet to finish top 5 in QB rushing. But the health risk is great for the injury-prone Murray, which makes him more of a superflex option than a 12-team option.
