Allen, 34, remained unsigned throughout the offseason and well into August before inking a one-year deal with Indianapolis. He spent last year with the Chargers, after a one-year sojourn to Chicago in 2024, perhaps bringing bad luck with him back west. Allen ended up in a broken offense again, and the result was a second straight season with more than 120 targets and fewer than 800 yards -- a feat that sounds like a Jarvis Landry trivia bit. In Indianapolis, there's clear need for an experienced wideout alongside Josh Downs and Alec Pierce, the latter of whom is questionable for Week 1 after offseason ankle surgery. Allen has history with coach Shane Steichen and shouldn't need long to pick up the offense, but he's purely a possession target at this stage of his career, unlikely to offer much value outside of deep PPR leagues.
