2026 Fantasy Outlook
Samuel quietly had a solid 2025 campaign amidst the massive disappointment of the Commanders' season. He played 16 games, his most since 2021, putting up a 72-727-5 receiving line (99 targets) and 17-75-1 rushing. While not quite the tackle-breaking menace he once was, Samuel did enough with his short targets to average 14.1 PPR points before a Week 12 bye, i.e., borderline-WR2 territory for fantasy. He then averaged just 7.8 PPR points in his final five games, losing value on the cusp of free agency. Samuel, 30, went unsigned during the main free-agent period before eventually rejoining forces with Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers in the wake of Ricky Pearsall's latest knee problems. It shouldn't take long to get reacclimated, though Samuel's role may partially depend on the development of rookie De'Zhaun Stribling.
