Achane is an enormous presence even at 5-foot-9, 188, and by now he's established himself as one of the league's best fantasy backs. Even though his small build will make it difficult for Achane to withstand any more than the 238 carries he claimed last season, there's plenty of fantasy upside to be found in his combination of breakaway runs and standout pass-catching production. It's easy to look past Achane's modest volume projection given his career average of 5.6 yards per carry, propelled by 12 carries of 40 or more yards (on 544 career attempts). That the Dolphins lost coach Mike McDaniel and his brilliant playcalling is more disappointing than truly concerning -- as much as McDaniel helped, Achane time and again picked up more yardage than what was schemed and blocked. The real fantasy concern for Achane this year is a QB shift from Tua Tagovailoa to Malik Willis. Tagovailoa was not good, but he spammed a lot of targets to Achane in situations where Willis might be inclined to run or look downfield. If Achane's reception count were to drop, there's no guarantee his rushing production would pick up the slack, as it'll be hard to improve on last year's 5.7 YPC and 12 total TDs (eight rushing) while playing for a rebuilding Dolphins team. He's in for the long haul after signing a four-year, $68 million extension in May.
