Fantasy Outlook

Achane is an enormous presence even at a listed 5-foot-9, 188 pounds, and by now he's established himself as one of the league's best fantasy backs. Even though his small build will make it difficult for Achane to withstand any more than the 238 carries he claimed in 2025, for fantasy purposes he offsets this slight concern with big per-carry damage and standout pass-catching production. It's easy to get over Achane's relatively low carry projection given his career average of 5.6 yards per carry, propelled by a ridiculous 12 carries of 40 or more yards on 544 career attempts. That the Dolphins lost coach Mike McDaniel and his brilliant playcalling is more disappointing than truly concerning - as much as McDaniel might have amplified Achane's abilities to the fullest possible extent, Achane's success is still owed to his own talent rather than McDaniel's scheming. The bigger concern for Achane might be the shift from Tua Tagovailoa to Malik Willis. Tagovailoa was not good, but he spammed a lot of targets to Achane in situations where Willis might be inclined to run himself. If Achane's reception count were to drop due to Miami attempting fewer passes, there's no guarantee that his rushing production will accordingly pick up the slack - Achane might not be able to withstand many more carries, and it's not realistic to expect him to improve on last year's 5.7 yards per carry over 238 attempts.
