After dealing with shoulder and finger injuries last summer, Richardson lost the Colts' starting job to Daniel Jones in training camp. While Jones prospered, Richardson fractured the orbital bone in his right eye in a pregame mishap with an elastic band Week 6, ending his season. Injuries are nothing new for Richardson. He entered last year having missed 17 of 34 games to injury since being drafted fourth overall in 2023. When actually on the field, he was wildly inaccurate as a passer, with his rushing ability his only reliable skill. The Colts gave Jones a two-year contract this offseason, while Richardson asked for a trade. His best path to start, though, may still be in Indianapolis, where Jones is coming off a late-season Achilles injury. If Jones isn't ready for the season opener, Richardson likely would be under center again. But until his accuracy improves, at least somewhat, his fantasy value will be shaky, even with the rushing. Plus, the Colts likely would hand the ball to Jonathan Taylor as much as possible and limit Richardson's pass attempts.
