Hyped as a potential Day 2 pick after he ran a 4.3-flat at the combine, Burks ended up falling all the way to Round 7, landing with Indianapolis as the 254th overall pick. He ran that impressive 40-yard dash at just 5-foot-10, 180, but he answered some questions about strength when he put up 26 bench-press reps. Burks also had elite marks in the vertical jump (42.5 inches) and broad jump (131 inches), but NFL teams seem to view Burks as a mere Workout Warrior after his modest college career. He spent three years at Purdue and two at Oklahoma, totaling 1,669 receiving yards and 14 TDs, with his best season coming back in 2023 for the Boilermakers (629 yards, seven TDs). Burks, 23, will now have to battle for a roster spot in Indianapolis, where there's a lack of established depth behind Alec Pierce and Josh Downs.
