After moving from Minnesota to Atlanta prior to the 2025-26 season, Alexander-Walker was pencilled in as the backup point guard behind Trae Young. However, Young missed the majority of the season due to a knee injury before eventually being traded to Washington. This afforded Alexander-Walker the opportunity to spread his wings. An opportunity that he took full advantage of. In 78 games, he averaged 20.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.2 three-pointers, finishing as the 28th-ranked player in nine-category leagues. Given he had never finished inside the top 200 prior to last season, it's fair to say that it was a breakout campaign. Having now seemingly locked up a starting role, expectations will be much higher coming into the 2026-27 season. Although Atlanta has added some depth pieces, it doesn't appear as though anyone is coming for his minutes. Assuming he plays a similar role to last season, fantasy managers should feel relatively comfortable taking a chance on Alexander-Walker in the fourth round of most drafts.
