Rattler opened last season as New Orleans' starting quarterback, guiding the team to a 1-7 record while completing 67.7 percent of his passes for 1,586 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions before eventually being benched in favor of 2025 second-rounder Tyler Shough. Shough capitalized on his opportunities down the stretch and is locked in for the starting role in 2026, leaving Rattler to battle free-agent addition Zach Wilson for backup duties. If Rattler secures the No. 2 job, he has enough starting experience to function as a capable fill-in, particularly with New Orleans bolstering its offense this offseason by adding RB Travis Etienne and rookie first-round WR Jordyn Tyson.
