Holland saw a slight uptick in playing time in his second NBA season after averaging 6.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.6 steals while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 23.8 percent from three-point range in 15.6 minutes per contest across 81 regular-season games (two starts) as a rookie during the 2024-25 campaign. His counting stats improved as a result, as the 2024 first-round pick averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 25.1 percent from beyond the arc in 19.9 minutes per contest across 78 regular-season appearances (five starts). Holland played sparingly during the postseason, logging just 5.6 minutes per tilt in seven appearances. The Pistons let starting power forward Tobias Harris depart in free agency, though free-agent acquisition John Collins is likely to claim Harris' vacant spot in the starting five, while Taurean Prince was acquired in a trade from the Bucks to add depth. Entering his age-21 season, Holland has flashed the athleticism, length and versatility to be an impactful defender on the wing, but the former G League Ignite standout's offensive game remains a work in progress. Improvement as an outside shooter would be notable for Holland's development, though he's likely ticketed for a reserve role during the 2026-27 campaign barring injuries to Collins or starting small forward Ausar Thompson.
