After playing a starting role in Chicago for many years, White shifted to the bench following a midseason trade to Charlotte during the 2025-26 season. In 21 appearances for his new team, White averaged 15.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 19.4 minutes per game. Following the offseason departure of LaMelo Ball, it would appear as though White is once again going to step into a starting role, forming a backcourt pairing with Kon Knueppel. While this is obviously good news for White and his prospective fantasy managers, it should be remembered that even as a starter, White has never been an elite asset. The fact that he offers basically nothing on the defensive end, while also providing less than ideal assist numbers, typically results in an underwhelming fantasy rank. In his most recent full season as a starter, the 2024-25 season, White finished as the 70th-ranked player, despite playing 33.1 minutes per game. He should definitely be on the radar in all formats, as long as he is routinely being drafted in the eighth or ninth round.
