Carlson signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Trail Blazers in the early days of free agency, but his role shouldn't change much compared to what he had in his first two years in Oklahoma City. He averaged a career-high 11.4 minutes per game for the Thunder across 42 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, but the move to Portland shouldn't improve his fantasy prospects. With Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams, Micah Potter and others ahead of him on the depth chart, Carlson is unlikely to see enough minutes for standard-league value early in the season -- even in the deepest formats. His combination of size and perimeter skill makes him an interesting dynasty prospect with upside, but even in that scenario, he's not expected to contribute much -- if at all -- in the 2026-27 campaign.
