Fantasy Outlook
Freiermuth declined across the board in 2025, finishing with 41 catches for 486 yards and four TDs after recording a 65-653-7 line in 2024. He averaged a career-high 9.0 yards per target in 2025, but his target total dipped from 78 in the preceding season to 54, as Freiermuth worked in a three-headed TE timeshare with Jonnu Smith (54 targets) and Darnell Washington (43 targets). Smith is no longer on the Steelers, but Pittsburgh traded for WR Michael Pittman, who was targeted at least 111 times in each of the past five seasons with the Colts. Freiermuth is unlikely to carve out a significantly larger role in a Pittsburgh passing game that may also be held back by mediocre or worse QB play, with the possible return of 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers representing the team's realistic best-case scenario in the short term.
