Allar's landing spot with Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft could have been far more intriguing if Aaron Rodgers ultimately chose not to return for the 2026 season. With Rodgers back, however, Allar, Mason Rudolph and 2025 sixth-round pick Will Howard are slated to battle for backup duties. Allar is working his way back from season-ending surgery last November to repair a broken left ankle, and the senior campaign cut short by the injury had been shaping up as a mixed bag. Still, across his sophomore and junior seasons, he compiled an impressive 49:10 TD:INT, and his prototypical 6-foot-5, 228-pound frame gives the Steelers plenty of reason to view him as a worthwhile developmental option.
