Milroe, a 2025 third-round pick, spent nearly his entire rookie season as Seattle's emergency No. 3 quarterback behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock. Early in 2025, the Seahawks experimented with limited packages designed to capitalize on his athleticism, but that role disappeared after Week 5 following just three offensive snaps, during which he recorded three carries for four yards and lost a fumble. Lock remains under contract through 2026, though Milroe is positioned to become the frontrunner for the No. 2 role once that deal expires. Before Seattle entrusts him with backup duties, however, the former Alabama standout may still need to show further development as a passer.
