Barner emerged as the Seahawks' top TE in his second NFL season, catching 52 of 68 targets for 519 yards and six touchdowns. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the clear No. 1 target for Sam Darnold, but Barner was second on the team in catches and TDs in 2025 while ranking third behind JSN and Cooper Kupp in receiving yards. Seattle also utilized Barner under center in some short-yardage situations, as he rushed 10 times for 14 yards and one touchdown while netting a first down or TD on all but one of his rushing attempts. The 2024 fourth-round pick scored four TDs in his rookie season as a part-time player, so he should remain a threat near the goal line even if 2025 second-round pick Elijah Arroyo encroaches on some of Barner's receiving workload from last year.
