Fantasy Outlook

The 'Size of the fight in the dog' saying rarely ever applied more than in the case of Dobbins, who's fairly well-built at around 5-foot-10, 212 pounds yet runs with the belief that he's something more like 250 pounds. Derrick Henry can do that because he's actually around 250 pounds, but with Dobbins there seems to be the trend of wearing himself thin through complete self-disregard. That fiery temperament makes Dobbins one of the most ferocious runners in the league, and he's probably a better receiver than his miserable pass-catching numbers in Denver would otherwise lead you to believe. The issue whatever way is that, despite his considerable talent, there has yet to occur a case in the NFL where Dobbins was able to scale up his production to the level he did at Ohio State, where he ran wild for the Buckeyes. Dobbins is still more or less that guy he was in college, but his tendency to burn hot and the substantial talent of 2025 second-round pick RJ Harvey are obstacles to Dobbins' usage volume, especially as a receiver. Fourth-round pick rookie Jonah Coleman might take his own stab at the pie, especially in short-yardage rushing situations. If Dobbins doesn't catch many passes due to Harvey and doesn't see many goal-line carries due to Coleman, it might be difficult for Dobbins to express much weekly upside. With possibly limited upside and likely heightened injury risk relative to most running backs, Dobbins might be challenging to utilize effectively outside of best-ball formats.
