Bentley is Sean Payton's latest overaged project at the skill positions, heading to Denver as a seventh-round pick (256th overall) after the latest of breakouts in college. With just three career receptions to his name beforehand, Bentley unexpectedly exploded last year for a 48-620-9 receiving line at Utah... in his age-24 campaign. He actually turned 25 on the day of Utah's bowl game, in which he put up a career-high 106 receiving yards (16.6 percent of his career total). Bentley then helped his draft stock at the 2026 Combine, posting a 4.62 40, 35-inch vertical, 118-inch broad jump and 24 bench-press reps at a sturdy 6-foot-4, 253. There may not be long-term upside, but Payton isn't necessarily wrong about Bentley being able to come in and compete for a role in a wide-open TE room that's been handled via rotation for the past few years.
