Davis heads into his third NFL season with an intriguing resume for a depth option in the backfield. On just 73 carries over 33 regular-season games for the Jets, the South Dakota State product has averaged 5.6 yards per carry, and in 2025 he showed some utility as a pass-catcher as well, turning 28 targets into a 21-186 line. Six of his 103 career touches have gone for 20 yards or more, a surprising showing considering his college profile suggested he didn't have the speed to break big gains and might have to settle for a short-yardage bulldozer role in the NFL. Breece Hall is returning as the clear top back for the Jets, but Davis has out-performed Braelon Allen during their time together in the New York backfield, and Allen missed most of last season due to an MCL sprain. The door could be open a crack for Davis to claim the No. 2 spot on the depth chart in 2026.
