An Achilles tear cut Ekeler's 2025 season short after just two games, leaving the veteran receiving back's future in jeopardy. Set to turn 31 years old this summer, the former Charger saw a significantly reduced workload in 2024 in his first season with the Commanders, but on a per-touch basis he had one of his most efficient campaigns as his 4.8 yards per carry was his best showing since 2018, while his 10.5 yards per reception was his best mark since 2019 as eight of his 35 catches went for gains of 20 yards or more. He also made an impact as a kickoff returner, finishing third in the league with 594 yards and second behind KaVontae Turpin at 31.3 yards per return. Ekeler is a free agent and will need to prove he's fully recovered before getting a look from another team, but he could have something left in the tank.
