After a decade that included a championship and a Finals MVP, Brown's relationship with the Celtics deteriorated to the point that Boston shipped him to a conference rival, sending him to Philadelphia in exchange for Paul George and draft compensation. Brown now joins a Sixers core featuring Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe. Philadelphia spent the offseason collecting complementary pieces to surround its scorers with defense and spacing, and Brown will be a fourth high-level shot creator plus a two-way wing presence the franchise has chased since Jimmy Butler left. The question for fantasy is what happens to Brown's volume. He has averaged 19.3 shot attempts per game over the past six seasons, and with Jayson Tatum sidelined until March, recovering from his Achilles rupture, Brown shouldered an enormous offensive burden in 2025-26, setting career highs in points (28.7), rebounds (6.9) and assists (5.1) per game. Embiid, when healthy, commands the Sixers' offense, and Maxey isn't surrendering his role, so Edgecombe might come off the bench following a promising rookie campaign. Brown's usage might settle back toward, or even below, his career averages. That said, "when healthy" is doing heavy lifting in any Embiid sentence, and Brown has a long track record of feasting whenever a co-star sits. Brown turns 30 in October and enters his 11th season with something to prove after an ugly divorce, which is usually a recipe for a motivated first year in a new uniform. Expect some early-season turbulence as four ball-dominant players sort out the pecking order, but Brown's fantasy floor makes him a reasonable third- or fourth-round pick in all formats.
