Missi has garnered a ton of trade interest across the league, but New Orleans is keen on keeping their big man. It's strange because the Pelicans didn't give him as many opportunities as they did in his rookie season. Missi averaged 26.8 minutes a night in his rookie season but only played 19.7 minutes a game last year. The stark drop-off is hard to understand, especially since the Pelicans have become one of the worst teams in the NBA. After flirting with double-double averages in his debut season, Missi managed 5.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per game last year. What was really strange was to see DeAndre Jordan getting minutes over him last season. That's a scary sight because Derik Queen also had a breakout rookie campaign as well. We didn't even discuss frontcourt players like Herbert Jones, Zion Williamson, Saddiq Bey and Karlo Matkovic, which explains the limited workload for Missi. It's unclear if we're going to see the 27-minute Missi we saw in his rookie season or the 20-minute role we saw last year, but somewhere in the middle is obviously the best bet. That doesn't make Missi much of a fantasy option in shallow leagues, but he'll remain relevant in most leagues if he receives a 25-minute role.
