Towns' second season in New York looked different under new coach Mike Brown, who trimmed his minutes from 35.0 to 31.0 and spread the offense around. The box score took a step back - 20.1 points, 1.5 threes, 3.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks on 50/37/86 shooting - yet Towns still finished as a high-level fantasy asset. He remained an elite, durable rebounding source, leading the NBA in double-doubles (56) while grabbing 11.9 boards, and his high-volume free-throw shooting (85.8 percent) propped up his efficiency. He battled a steady drip of minor ailments (quad, calf, knee, eye, back, elbow) but missed only a handful of games. In the playoffs he leaned into a facilitator role (4.9 assists) all the way to New York's first title since 1973. Heading into his age-31 season, Towns returns as the clear No. 2 behind Jalen Brunson, with Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart again commanding touches. That crowded pecking order, plus Brown's egalitarian system, likely keeps his usage and minutes near 2025-26 levels rather than the loftier Thibodeau-era marks. The floor is high - rebounding, efficiency and free-throw production make him a safe early-round center - but the ceiling is capped by minimal blocks (0.5), foul-driven minutes volatility, and a regressed three-point stroke that once set him apart. If the volume from deep bounces back, he's a first-round value again. If not, he profiles as a late-second-round anchor. Draft him as a category-friendly, double-double machine.
