Sexton split his time across Chicago and Charlotte last season, finishing as the 165th-ranked player in standard leagues. He averaged 15.4 points, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 three-pointers, shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 85.5 percent from the line. Despite being considered a worthwhile scoring option, Sexton has never been an elite fantasy option. Following the departure of LeBron James, the Lakers acquired Sexton during the offseason, bringing him in to play behind Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. At this stage, he is likely to compete for backup minutes with Cameron Carr. Beyond those two players, Los Angeles doesn't have a lot of scoring depth at the guard positions. Taking this into account, fantasy managers should expect to see Sexton playing a very similar role to the one he played last season. As a player who can routinely flirt with 16 points per night, he should at least be on the radar as a last-round flyer. But if we're being honest, as long as the Lakers can remain relatively healthy, Sexton is more likely to be a stream-level player.
