Reaves posted career highs nearly across the board in 2025-26 (23.3 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 2.3 threes in 34.5 minutes). He exploded out of the gate with LeBron James sidelined, dropping a career-high 51 points against Sacramento and a 16-assist night versus Minnesota while carrying the offense. Injuries then piled up. A groin strain cost him three November games, a Grade 2 calf strain around Christmas wiped out 19 games, and a Grade 2 oblique strain in early April ended his regular season and kept him out until late in the first round. He limped through a second-round sweep at the hands of the Thunder, finishing with just 51 regular-season appearances. His efficiency held up (49 percent from the field, 87 percent from the line), continuing the trajectory he's built since his 2022-23 breakout. Looking ahead, Reaves enters 2026-27 in the best possible spot after signing a four-year, $185 million deal to stay in Los Angeles. James leaving the team cements Reaves as the clear-cut No. 2 next to Doncic. That should push his usage, assists and scoring toward the elite marks he flashed early last season when James was out. The roster around him tilts complementary. Walker Kessler arrives to anchor the middle as a rim-runner and rebounder, while backcourt/wing additions Collin Sexton and Quentin Grimes provide scoring and floor spacing rather than shot-creation competition. None of them threaten Reaves' on-ball role. The only real caveat remains durability, as three separate soft-tissue injuries in one season is a red flag. If he stays healthy, though, Reaves has a clear runway to being a second-round value in fantasy.
