Travis' brother didn't enter the NFL with the same kind of hype, getting plucked by the Panthers with a fourth-round pick in 2025 out of Georgia, and the younger Etienne was never able to establish himself in a backfield dominated by Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard. Etienne saw just 20 carries all season, and only two of those came after Week 8, although he did average a respectable 4.7 yards per carry. He simply lacks plus traits, as his 4.42 40-yard is time is merely OK on a smaller 5-foot-8, 198-pound frame, and his elusiveness, burst and vision are similarly only slightly better than adequate. Etienne did lead Carolina in kickoff return yards, although his 23.6 yards per return was below league average. While Dowdle is now in Pittsburgh, Hubbard remains to handle No. 1 duties, and 2024 second-round Jonathon Brooks is looking to make a comeback after injuries ruined his first two NFL campaigns. Etienne may have to settle for a depth role on offense and special teams once again.
