Odunze hasn't lived up to his billing as a top-10 pick, but there have been enough promising signs along the way to earn him a spot on breakout lists again. After putting up just 54-734-3 on 101 targets during his 2024 rookie campaign, Odunze came out of the gate white-hot in 2025, scoring five TDs over the first four weeks while averaging 5.0 catches for 74.0 yards on 8.8 targets. That's high-end WR1 production for fantasy, but Odunze then managed double-digit PPR points just two more times in 10 appearances (including playoffs). A heel injury seemed to be a big part of that, with Odunze a regular on the injury report from Week 9 onward. He even missed the final five games of the regular season, before returning for the playoffs and catching just four passes for 88 yards in two games. Apart from Odunze's midseason freefall, everything went as planned for the Bears offense under new coach Ben Johnson, who oversaw midseason breakthroughs by talented rookies Luther Burden and Colston Loveland. Chicago then moved on from DJ Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus in the offseason, leaving Odunze and Burden with minimal competition for playing time and just one other threat (Loveland) to capture a large target share.
