Rice played just 12 games over the past two seasons, held back by an LCL tear in 2024 and then a suspension and a concussion in 2025. He's been a WR1 for fantasy when available, averaging 17.9 PPR points and 8.9 targets over those 12 games. Prior to that, Rice had a big run to close out his 2023 rookie season, averaging 16.3 PPR points and 8.5 targets over his final 11 appearances (including playoffs). The big question, then, is whether Rice can stay healthy and unsuspended, because there's not much doubt he'll see a steady flow of short passes whenever available. To that end, his ADP shot up in April when the NFL announced a conclusion to its investigation into domestic violence accusations. The frequency of Rice's off-field problems raises concern about heightened suspension risk in general, but it sounds like nothing will come of his most recent situation. The Chiefs, however, are looking at even bigger question marks than the usual Rice-related dramas, with Patrick Mahomes rehabbing an ACL tear after missing the playoffs. Rice's lack of downfield production (four career catches 20-plus yards downfield) could eventually make him vulnerable to changes in team context, but for now he's still with Mahomes and Andy Reid, playing in an offense that has modest competition for targets and a long history of elevated pass volume.
