Gadsden was overshadowed by Colston Loveland, Tyler Warren and Harold Fannin in the strong 2025 rookie TE class, but the Chargers' fifth-round pick showed plenty of promise in his own right. Tied for 19th among TEs with 69 targets, Gadsden finished 11th at the position in receiving yards (664) while ranking third in yards per catch (13.6). Having converted from WR to TE in college, Gadsden offers more downfield playmaking ability than others at his new position, creating the possibility for fantasy value even if he loses some playing time to superior blockers (61.6 percent snap share in his rookie regular season). The Chargers have replaced veteran backups Tyler Conklin and Will Dissly with pricey free-agent Charlie Kolar, who figures to take some snaps from Gadsden but isn't likely to draw many targets. Safe as his role may be in clear passing situations, Gadsden will probably miss out on some routes on early downs because new OC Mike McDaniel wants Kolar and/or FB Alec Ingold on the field for blocking.
