Josh Sweat signed a massive four-year, $76 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals before the 2025 season, reuniting him with former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. Sweat's snap share dropped to just 47% in his first year with Arizona, the lowest since 2020. However, he posted his highest career sack total (12.0) and his fifth straight season with 40+ pressures despite the reduction in workload. Sweat missed most of training camp on the PUP list with a knee injury, but was activated at the end of training camp and seems to be ready to go for Week 1. The Cardinals retained their defensive coordinator, Nick Rallis, after firing Gannon, which means we likely see the veteran edge rusher in a part-time split again. That role makes it hard for Sweat to accrue stats, making him extremely boom-or-bust in IDP formats given his over-reliance on sacks to score fantasy points.
