Jaelan Phillips was the crown jewel of the edge rushing talent in the 2026 free agent class. He signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Panthers to address their need for pass rush on the perimeter. Phillips registered 53 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 73 pressures and 5.0 sacks in 2025 with the Dolphins and Eagles, but most importantly, played in 17 games. He had been limited to just 12 combined games in two prior seasons. Phillips leaves something to be desired as a run defender with a 17.1% career missed tackle rate, but there is no denying that he's an efficient pass rusher. He owns a career 13.7% pressure rate with 28.0 sacks on his 1,568-career pass rushing snaps. He will likely see attention from offensive coordinators on passing downs but should benefit from the presence of Derrick Brown on the interior. A healthy 2026 would likely push him into the conversation of high-end edge rushing talents in the NFL.
