An ongoing ankle injury limited Murray to just 23 games during the 2025-26 season, during which time he averaged 14.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers and 2.6 combined steals and blocks. Prior to last season, Murray had played at least 76 games in each of the three previous campaigns, meaning his health struggles last season could be viewed as an outlier. Although Murray is almost certainly going to open the 2026-27 season as the starting power forward, the bigger question is perhaps where he fits in the rotation in terms of usage. In previous seasons, it could be argued that Sacramento has failed to extract the most out of Murray, often utilizing him as nothing more than a floor-spacer. Despite that, he has finished inside the top 90 in each of the past three seasons, a range that should be considered his floor moving forward. Should Sacramento hand him the keys this season, Murray has the tools to at least flirt with top 50 value, under the right circumstances. If he is available anywhere after pick 100, the risk is worth the reward.
