The 2025-26 season was one to forget for Sabonis, playing just 19 games due to a left kneeinjury suffered in mid-November. When healthy, Sabonis certainly didn't look to be firing onall cylinders, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 29.7 minutes per game.Having at least been in the discussion as a top 20 fantasy asset in the past, fantasymanagers are now at a crossroads in terms of how to view Sabonis moving forward.Assuming he is still in Sacramento to begin the 2026-27 season, Sabonis will presumably bethe starting center, a role that he has filled since arriving from Indiana. This should make hima viable target in all drafts, albeit a target with some risk. Both Maxime Raynaud and DylanCardwell stepped up last season and will be battling for backup minutes. Sacramentoappears to be leaning into a rebuild of sorts, which raises some questions about Sabonis'long-term role. This uncertainty could see him drop to the fourth, fifth or even sixth rounds ofdrafts. Balancing the risk and reward is going to be key for anyone wishing to take a chanceon him.
