2026 Fantasy Outlook
Despite seemingly having all the tools to be a top 50 fantasy asset, Smith has yet to put it all together. With that said, the 2025-26 season could be considered a win, finishing inside the top 100 for just the second time in his career. In 77 appearances, he averaged 15.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers and 1.6 combined steals and blocks. While the counting stats are fine, sub-par efficiency continues to drag down his overall value, shooting just 45.0 percent from the field and 77.5 percent from the line. Heading into the 2026-27 season, Smith is likely to play a very similar role as the starting power forward in Houston. However, with Fred VanVleet returning to the lineup, Smith could very well find himself as the fourth or fifth option on offense. He has never been an elite defensive contributor and sharing the floor with Alperen Sengun, Kevin Durant and Amen Thompson doesn't bode well for his rebound numbers. All things considered, Smith should settle in as a borderline top 100 player once again, making him a reasonable target in the ninth or tenth round.
