Bogdanovic was a must-roster player throughout his first six seasons in the NBA, but it fell apart when he joined the Los Angeles Clippers two years ago. He was stuck behind Kawhi Leonard and James Harden in terms of playmaking, averaging 9.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.6 steals over the last two years. That's a massive fall-off since Bogdanovic averaged 15.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals across the previous six seasons. His minutes dropping from 29 to 22 is the main reason for the fall-off, but playing just 77 games over that two-year span also hurt. Injuries can derail anyone's career, and they become more problematic when you're a bench player. The good news for Bogdanovic is that he has a fresh start, signing a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets this summer. His role there is unclear, but Bogdanovic looks like the 10th man in this rotation right now. It's also one of the oldest teams in the NBA, so opportunities could open up if any of these veterans miss time. The talent is still there, but it's all about opportunity for a guy like Bogdanovic, and that might never return.
