2026 Fantasy Outlook
Watson missed last season with an Achilles injury that he originally suffered in 2024 and then re-injured the following January. Since leading the league in passing yards in 2020, Watson has played just 19 games. He wasn't good the last time he was on the field, and it's unclear what he has left as his 31st birthday approaches in early September. It does seem the Browns will give Watson one last chance to at least compete for the starting job, squaring off against Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel and sixth-round pick Taylen Green. The Browns revamped their offensive line with five new starters and drafted wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the first and second rounds, respectively. Quality tight end Harold Fannin is the best returning pass catcher under new head coach Todd Monken, with WR Jerry Jeudy coming off an ugly 2024 campaign. Watson isn't likely to run much at this point in his career and also isn't going back to the days of 8.0 YPA and 4,000 yards, so there's only a QB2 fantasy ceiling even if he unexpectedly stabilizes Cleveland's QB play.
