Fresh off his first All-Star appearance, Powell will open the season as a member of the Bulls, presumably serving as the starting two-guard, alongside Josh Giddey. Powell played 58 games for the Heat during the 2025-26 season, averaging 21.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.7 three-pointers in 29.6 minutes per game. These numbers were almost identical to what he produced during the previous season and what managers should potentially expect this season. Despite the fact that he is now 33 years of age, Powell could, in fact, be about to embark on the best scoring season of his career, given that Chicago is not blessed with pure scorers. Giddey has certainly improved on that end of the floor, but remains a pass-first player in most situations. Matas Buzelis is likely going to challenge him for the role of leading scorer, but it doesn't feel as though he is quite there yet. Although Powell doesn't offer a ton of upside outside of scoring, he has averaged at least 1.1 steals per game in each of the past two years. If he is available beyond the seventh round, Powell makes sense as a low-risk target, particularly if you are looking to boost your points production.
