After spending his entire career, to this point, in Brooklyn, Claxton will get a fresh start in Chicago, where he will look to get back to being the player he was only two seasons ago. In 69 appearances for the Nets during the 2025-26 season, Claxton averaged 11.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 blocks in 27.8 minutes per game. This was barely good enough for top 160 value in nine-category leagues, a far cry from when he finished as the 24th-ranked player back in 2022-23. Although most of his numbers have remained relatively consistent, his blocks have regressed significantly, from 2.5 per game during the 2022-23 season to just 1.1 last year. Now with the Bulls, Claxton will likely assume the role of starting center, ahead of Zach Collins and Jalen Smith. While the Bulls are not projected to be a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference, it is a favorable situation when compared to Brooklyn, assuming Chicago strives to be competitive. For fantasy managers, the hope is that Claxton can increase his defensive production. If that is the case, it would be surprising to see him push back inside the top 100. As for when to target him in drafts, he should be a relatively safe target anywhere after the ninth round.
