After coming off the bench for the first six games of the 2025-26 season, Clowney was elevated into a starting role, where he remained for the entirety of the campaign. He ended by playing 66 games, during which he averaged 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers and 1.5 combined steals and blocks. Although he was able to put himself on the fantasy radar, Clowney's season could certainly be viewed as somewhat underwhelming, given his opportunity. Coming into the 2026-27 season, Clowney's time as a starter could be coming to an end, following the addition of Julius Randle and Keon Ellis. Given he was well outside the top 200 in 27.1 minutes per game last season, it's hard to see Clowney making any real noise this season, assuming the roster remains mostly healthy.
