Wagner was limited to just 36 games for Orlando during the 2025-26 season as he recovered from an ACL injury suffered during the previous campaign. When healthy, Wagner averaged 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game, numbers that could change significantly this season. Although his time with the Magic was mostly underwhelming, Wagner will get a fresh start in Brooklyn, where he should be able to carve out a meaningful role. At this point, it appears as though either Wagner or Day'Ron Sharpe will start at center, with the other playing as the primary backup. While Sharpe is clearly a better defensive option, Wagner's ability to stretch the floor could work in his favor. Based on what we have seen throughout his career, Wagner would likely need upwards of 24 minutes per game to have any chance of being a standard league asset. The preseason may give us an insight as to who will get first crack at the starting job, at which point fantasy managers can adjust their boards accordingly. For now, it is unlikely Wagner will be someone to target actively in drafts.
