The No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Murray-Boyles put together a respectable rookie season with the Raptors in 2025-26, averaging 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks in 21.9 minutes per game across 57 regular-season appearances. Additionally, the 21-year-old is coming off an impressive run during Toronto's first-round series loss to the Cavaliers, during which he averaged 14.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks in 27.1 minutes per game across seven outings. He didn't play in the Las Vegas Summer League due to a finger injury, though Murray-Boyles is fully healthy ahead of the 2026-27 season. The South Carolina product stepped into an expanded role at times throughout the 2025-26 campaign, as Jakob Poeltl was limited to just 46 regular-season appearances due to a lingering back injury. While Poeltl is expected to get the starting nod at center to begin the year, it wouldn't be surprising if Toronto managed the veteran big man's workload. Kawhi Leonard will also step into the starting frontcourt after being dealt from the Clippers, but he has a lengthy injury history and could have his playing time monitored as well. Murray-Boyles faces some competition for playing time, though he'll likely see significant minutes in Toronto's frontcourt and could fill in as a starter from time to time. With that, he's a fine target in the later rounds of points league drafts and offers even more value in category leagues thanks to his defensive contributions and efficiency from the field.
