Bassey has been a fantasy darling at times with elite per-minute averages, but his playing time has always been limited. This center has never played more than 14.5 minutes per game in any of his five seasons. The playing time is one thing, but the fact that he's never played more than 36 games is truly terrifying. Availability is one of the most important abilities as a backup center, and that simply hasn't been there for this big man. He spent time with the Boston Celtics before signing with the Golden State Warriors in April of last season. That's when the Warriors were desperate for some center help, with Bassey recording a double-double in two of the final five games. Those were mostly "meaningless" games, but that sort of ability is why Bassey keeps finding opportunities. It's also one of the few teams where Bassey might have an opportunity to step in and play because Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis are the only true centers on this roster. Those two are likely to miss games at some point, and Bassey should be the next man up after signing a one-year deal with Golden State in the offseason.
