Ferguson finished second among NFL tight ends with 24 red-zone targets in 2025, two years after leading the position with 25 such targets in 2023. He scored 13 touchdowns across those two campaigns, yet failed to find the end zone even once in 2024, becoming a non-factor after QB Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury. The 6-foot-5 TE is a distant third option in Dallas' passing game, behind wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but that didn't stop Ferguson from catching a career-high 82 passes in 2025. He averaged a career-low 7.3 yards per catch, but that works fine in PPR leagues if he's averaging a handful of receptions per game and scoring a TD every 2-3 weeks. The only concern from last year is that his production and volume faded after a Week 10 bye, with Ferguson averaging just 27.0 yards on 4.5 targets over the final eight games while getting outproduced by No. 3 receiver Ryan Flournoy (39.6 YPG post-bye). That's not to say Ferguson can't repeat his success from 2023 or 2025, but he's not quite as safe a fantasy pick as he might seem at first glance.
