Boye Mafe signed a three-year, $60 million contract with the Bengals this offseason as part of their defensive line overhaul. Mafe was a starter for the Seahawks in 2023 and 2024, registering 92 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 105 pressures and 15.0 sacks. However, he was forced into a rotational role in 2025 with Uchenna Nwosu, DeMarcus Lawrence and Derick Hall. Mafe's snap share dropped from 60% to 50%, which caused his production to drop (31 tackles, four tackles for loss, 44 pressures and 2.0 sacks). He will be part of another rotation in Cincinnati with Myles Murphy and rookie Cashius Howell, but this time Mafe will be the most experienced edge player. He should also see one-on-one matchups thanks to the presence of Dexter Lawrence on the interior. If Mafe can increase his snap share in his new landing spot (like his contract suggests), he could return to his previous production.
