George was one of the breakout stars of the 2025-26 season, taking his game to another level. Sadly, he managed only 54 games, due mostly to two separate injuries to his ankle and hamstring. With that said, the fact that Utah was openly tanking could have had something to do with his prolonged absence, particularly down the stretch, where he missed 16 games to close the season. Prior to his injuries, George was a shining light in what was another disappointing season for the Jazz, averaging 23.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.5 three-pointers, shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 89.2 percent from the line. He finished as a top 40 player in standard nine-category leagues, far exceeding anything he had done in the past. Having had multiple losing seasons, it appears as though Utah is ready to hit the go button this season. Despite losing Walker Kessler, the additions of Darryn Peterson and Jaren Jackson, as well as likely improvement from players like Ace Bailey and Brice Sensabaugh, should see the Jazz a far more competitive team. Unlike previous seasons, fantasy managers may be able to draft players from Utah with confidence, including both George and Lauri Markkanen. Projecting what George might do this season is tough, given the impending changes. While he should still be a focal point on offense, it's hard to see him making any significant increases. Assuming that top 40 is his ceiling, managers will want to be targeting him lower than that, perhaps in the late fourth or early fifth rounds. However, coming off a season filled with a lot of hype, the fear is that his ADP eliminates any chance of him being a value pick this season.
