Thompson proved he still has something left in the tank offensively during his second season in Dallas, continuing to stretch defenses with elite perimeter shooting while settling comfortably into a complementary role alongside the Mavericks' primary creators. Although he's no longer capable of carrying an offense for extended stretches, Thompson remains one of the league's premier outside shooters and continues to provide decent scoring numbers, even if he's not putting up the numbers he used to deliver during the prime of his career. He averaged 11.7 points per game while shooting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc in 69 appearances (eight starts) in the 2025-26 regular season. Fantasy managers know exactly what they're getting at this stage of his career: points, threes and strong free-throw shooting with limited contributions in rebounds, assists and defensive categories. He'll be 36 at the start of the 2026-27 season, so he doesn't have much upside, but he remains a solid late-round pick-up if you need three-point production rather than all-around statistical output.
