Hurst offers everything one looks for in a WR prospect, until you realize his massive production occurred in the Sun Belt Conference for a Georgia State team that had nothing else going for it and repeatedly chucked the ball in Hurst's direction. Even then, he comes out looking pretty good, with per-target efficiency far above the team baseline in both 2024 (56-961-9 on 98 targets, 9.8 YPT) and 2025 (71-1,004-6 on 133 targets, 7.6 YPT). Hurst improved his draft stock at the 2026 Combine with a 4.42 40 and 135-inch broad jump at 6-foot-4, 206, though his 36.5-inch vertical was slightly disappointing. He profiles as a classic X receiver and downfield playmaker in the NFL, with enough size and strength to theoretically earn considerable volume in shallower areas of the field as well. For now, the Bucs may put much less on his plate, allowing Hurst to work with the second unit while Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan soak up first-team reps. Hurst is faster and taller than any of them, but he's young even for a rookie (22 in July), coming out of a small program and into a WR room with solid veterans.
