Fantasy Outlook

This might be the end of the road for Hunt. The 30-year-old former rushing champ has become something of a goal-line specialist for Kansas City over the last couple seasons, with 14 of his 15 touchdowns over 30 regular-season games coming from within five yards of the end zone, and only two of his 363 carries during those two years turned into gains of 20 yards or more. Hunt still offers a fairly well-rounded skill set, but he's no longer a big-play threat, and in the days following the 2026 draft he remained on the open market without seeming to draw much interest. Hunt hasn't averaged better than 4.0 yards per carry or 2.0 yards per carry after contact since 2021, and NFL teams seem to prefer paying players late-round rookie salaries to do the kind of job he's capable of doing at this stage of his career. He could still get a look if injuries hit some team's backfield, but a return to KC seems unlikely after the team added Kenneth Walker, Emari Demercado and fifth-round pick Emmett Johnson.
