I’ll be one of the few who thinks it’s too early to give up on Nick Caley.
While obviously I’m not gonna sit here and act like the offense is good I think they have improved on some things they really struggled with last year.
Just please play your rookies and I think we will see progress.

C.J. Stroud has turned the ball over on just 1.4% of his pressured dropbacks this season (2nd lowest among qualified QBs)
- He’s averaging 0.81 seconds to throw after pressure (quickest mark of his career)
- 8.4 air yards per attempt under pressure (fewest of his career)
- 10.1% throw away rate on pressured dropbacks (up from 7.1% in 2024)
There has very clearly been an effort from Stroud & the offensive staff to not try and force things while just taking what the defense gives you.
Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. has won AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
This is his 3rd time winning the award in his career.
C.J. Stroud Mic’d Up on their drive to seal their win vs the Raiders.
Before the 3rd & 8:
“Are we throwing it?” - C.J. Stroud to Nick Caley
“Yeah” - Nick Caley
C.J. Stroud to Devin White after the game winner to Nico:
“That’s a dime boy that’s a dot”
C.J. Stroud Mic’d Up vs the Raiders:
“12 down there somewhere”
Going through some of the Texans playoff simulators IF the Texans can win out & get to 12-5 they are guaranteed a top 6 seed in the AFC and the top WC spot if the Bills lose a game in that stretch.
In that case these are the most likely WC round games for Houston:
Texans @ Jaguars
Texans @ Steelers
Chargers vs Texans
Now if they don’t win out this obviously changes but this is so we have a idea of what we could see come WC round.
The Texans have made the following moves to their practice squad:
Signed:
LB Power Echols
DT Leki Fotu
S Kaevon Merriweather
Released:
CB Damon Arnette
DT Marcus Harris
S Brandon Hill
Houston Texans clinching scenarios for Week 17:
Houston will know who to root for in the INDvJAX game depending on if they win or not Saturday.
The Texans have FOUR Pro Bowlers this year:
WR Nico Collins
LB Azeez Al-Shaair
DE Will Anderson Jr.
CB Derek Stingley Jr
