August 17th Josh reported “calf discomfort” on the same leg he had knee surgery on in college.
Confirmed and diagnosed with “bulging herniated disc” in his lumbar spine.
Disc problem was higher up than normal which “complicated the case”
Josh and his agent selected a spine specialist upon request from the Chiefs to get a 2nd opinion.
The recommendation from the specialist was rehabilitation not surgery.
Josh “worked his tail off” with the Chiefs staff and improved to the point where he returned to practice in a limited capacity.
The Chiefs feel like he has plateaued in the rehab process.
It was decided and agreed upon everybody (Josh, his people, his agent, Rick, Andy and Veach) that he should be placed on IR.
Surgery is not recommended.
