This recap makes it sound like Bucky really struggled against the Falcons D. If you watched the whole game, you’d know that he consistently rushed for 5 to 6 yards and was really only hurt on extremely obvious running downs where he was tackled for a loss a few times. Their first series, Bucky started with an 11-yard rush and an 11-yard catch and run. And they didn’t really make him a focal point of the offense until well into the game when they had him in shotgun and running a Wildcat type scheme where he again was getting consistent gains of 5-15 yards. He was rarely if ever in on 3rd down, and I think he got 1 snap in the red zone all game, and that was past the 20 yard line. The fact that they only completed one pass to this guy is criminal, especially since the flat and underneath were consistently open.

Todd Bowles took away his easy TD which makes this an acceptable performance. Baker also didn’t help by completely ignoring a wide open Bucky 6-7 yards down the field over and over.
